How to fix broken (disintegrated) Garmin eTrex 20 rubber buttons

My Garmin eTrex20 is now about 6 years since I bought it. Since then I have using it and some times under utilizing it. But when time pass all things and materials will start to degrade. The buttons on the Garmin eTrex 20 have now disintegrated. Turned to rubber dust! The replacement casing is quite expensive and I found a cheaper way to fix it. However it will not be water proof anymore. Never the less I could still use it.

These are how the disintegrated buttons look like.

Prepare these stuffs.

Cut the eraser into smaller pieces.

Measure the size of the eraser to cut by inserting it into the button holes.

After you have got the right size, make 4 more of them.

You should be able to press the button once all the cut erasers are in place.

Use duct tape to cover them.

These are rubber bumpers you can buy from Ailiexpress. I bought it from: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Outdoor-Handheld-GPS-Silicon-Rubber-Protect-Case-Cover-LCD-Screen-Protector-for-Garmin-eTrex-10-20/32788308714.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.3da24c4d2q1dr1

It also comes with free screen protector.

Fix the rubber bumpers on the Garmin eTrex 20 and the device is good to go.
